During the first, Frantz opened the scoring for the Thunder with a goal at 2:25 with helpers from his teammates Bioni and Simon. Kalnberzins answered for Nashville with a goal at 9:52 with helpers from his linemates, Schmidt and Kulczyk.
In the second, Cabala deposited a goal at 5:37 with an assist from Parrish. Veneklase quickly followed with a goal at 6:29 with a helper from fellow Thunder forward Sangster. Frantz quickly followed with a goal at 7:13 with assists from his linemates, Sangster and Ustorf. Schmidt answered for Nashville with a goal at 11:03 with a helper from Kulczyk. Cunningham deposited what turned out to be the game winning goal at 18:02 with assists from Kulczyk and Schmidt.
The Jr. Predators’ victory was in no doubt helped out by Chin as he stopped 23 of the 26 shots he faced. Chin’s counterpart, Poczos, also had a big night, managing to stop 31 of 35, but ultimately fell short.
