Nashville\’s Logan Orem had a big offensive game, scoring two goals and contributing one assist in his team\’s 6-3 win over Atlanta.
Orem found the back of the net 3:45 into the second period to make the score 3-1 Nashville and again while short handed 5:45 into the third to make the score 5-3 Nashville.
Nashville put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Atlanta to score on any of its three power plays.
Others who scored for Nashville included Michael Redmon, who had two and Dakota Wilson and Colton Anderson, who each put in one. Other players who recorded assists for Nashville were Noah Keener, Peter Cabala, William Garrity, and Trent Kulczyk, who each chipped in one.
Atlanta stifled Nashville\’s power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man.
Atlanta was helped by Ryan Dumond, who tallied one goal. Dumond scored 18:10 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Alex Johanson assisted on the tally. Atlanta also got points from Kyle Rimbach, who also had one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Artus Laukaitis also scored for Atlanta. More assists for Atlanta came via Colin OConnor, who had one.
Nashville\’s Nicholas Ottenbacher stopped 20 shots out of the 23 that he faced. Nashville incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Alekandr Zendejas rejected 21 shots on goal for Atlanta. Atlanta incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
