The Nashville Jr. Predators gutted out a close 4-2 win against the Dallas Jr. Stars.
Each team kept the other at bay throughout the game, and Colton Anderson secured the win for Nashville with a goal in the third period.
The Jr. Predators\’ penalty kill excelled, as Nashville gave up one goal despite allowing seven power plays.
The Jr. Predators were sparked by Anderson, who tallied one goal. Anderson scored short handed 10:18 into the third period to make the score 3-2 Nashville. Nashville played down a man on Nick Mammel\’s high sticking. Jacob Lainesse picked up the assist.
Dallas was unable to stop the Jr. Predators from sending pucks towards the net, and Nashville eventually piled up 37 shots on goal. Team\’s forwards weren\’t the only contributers offensively, and the team\’s defensemen showcased their scoring touch with two goals.
Nashville also had goals scored by Matiss Gelazis, Jesse Hyde, and Cole Helgemo, who scored one goal each. Other players who recorded assists for Nashville were Jon Evans, who had two and Noah Keener, Ben Falk, Topi Samuli Aheristo, and Nathaniel Chiarizzio, who each chipped in one.
The Jr. Stars were helped by Drew Hill, who had one goal. Hill scored 17:56 into the first period to make the score 2-1 Nashville. Travis Hall assisted on the tally. Dallas also got a goal from Moskal Parker as well. In addition, Dallas received assists from Tyler Valentin, Aaron Torres, and Connor Perisho, who contributed one each.
The Jr. Predators\’ Justin Ball stopped 18 shots out of the 20 that he faced. Nashville incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with eight minors. Chris Mallon made 33 saves for Dallas on 36 shots. The Jr. Stars incurred 22 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
