Kulczyk’s goals lift Nashville to 4-1 victory over Point Mallard

The Nashville Jr. Predators relied on the scoring touch of Trent Kulczyk, who netted two goals, to beat the Point Mallard Ducks, 4-1.

Kulczyk\’s tallies came at 15:27 into the first period to make the score 2-1 Nashville and 56 seconds into the second to make the score 3-1 Nashville.

Nashville put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Point Mallard to score on any of its four power plays.

Nashville also had goals scored by Zach Greenwood and Spencer Marchand, who scored one goal each. More assists for Nashville came via Topi Samuli Aheristo, Kyle Van Wyk, Colton Anderson, and Nick Mammel, who contributed one each and Rudolfs Kalvitis and Jacob Lainesse, who each chipped in two.

The Ducks\’ penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on seven Nashville power plays. Point Mallard\’s offense operated below its season average. The Ducks average 3.5 goals per game.

Point Mallard was led by Chris Corgan, who scored the team\’s only goal. Corgan scored 6:08 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Point Mallard.

Nathan Klebe made 20 saves for the Jr. Predators on 21 shots. Nashville incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. David Volkmann rejected 26 shots on goal for the Ducks. Point Mallard incurred 24 minutes in penalty time with seven minors.
